Moi University,  the second oldest university in Kenya, is the newest Vi affiliate member. Along with core member, the University of Nairobi, Moi is also the second institution representing the country in the Vi network.

Located in Eldoret, 300 km away from the capital Nairobi, Moi's aim is to preserve, create and disseminate knowledge through teaching and research, and work with the government and the private sector for the betterment of society.

The first contacts with the university were established in January, thanks to Willy-Marcel Ndayitwayeko, a Burundian academic who participated in a Vi professional development workshop October, 2011, and is now pursuing his PhD studies in Kenya. These contacts quickly led to the understanding that cooperation would be of interest to both parties.
