With financial support from the government of Finland, the Virtual Institute organized its first fellowships for future assistant lecturers from the University of Dar-es-Salaam (UDES), during a month from the 28th April to the 26th May.
Following the success of last year's study tour, the Virtual Institute organized a three week study tour for 23 students on the Masters in International Trade Policy programme at the Univeristy of the West Indies (UWI), from the 8th to the 26th May.
Twenty-nine graduate students from the University of Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania, have ended an eight-day study tour of Geneva trade and development organizations. The workshops, organized by UNCTAD covered the broad issue of economic development with a focus on commodities.
The ITC will host a week long workshop in July this year on 'Strategic Market Analysis for International Business Development' which will cover, among other topics, how participants can better utilise market research to formulate trade strategy and how to bring together local institutions to support trade related activities.
