Addressing UNCTAD's Trade Development Board's Panel on African food security: Lessons from the recent global food crisis, Adesina said agricultural trade barriers must be lowered and more official development assistance (ODA) allocated to African farming. The main challenges include creating an African Consensus and developing a critical mass of resources and policies focused on smallholder farmers, he added.
