The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) is organizing a workshop on the teaching and research of Trade and Poverty for academic and research institutions in Africa, and is seeking qualified and motivated candidates wishing to participate.
The one-week workshop will be conducted in English, and will be held in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania, November 19-23. Deadline for applications is October 5.
Moscow's State University Higher School of Economics (HSE) and St. Petersburg State University (SPSU) today became official members of the Vi network, bringing the number of core and affiliate member universities to 21 and 11 respectively.
The network's counterpart at HSE, the Institute for Trade Policy, works closely with Vi member Centre for Trade Policy and Law, Carleton University, in Canada, and was introduced to the Vi during a joint visit to Geneva.
SPSU's Department of World Economy became acquainted with the network in April, when the Vi hosted a study tour in Geneva for 12 postgraduate students and professors.
With the help of the material from the workshop, my students got more interested in international issues. The thing that delighted them was the practical and relevant examples of LDCs given in the materials.
