Under the direct leadership of the Ministry of Education of China (MOE), CUFE is one of the national 211 key universities (high-level Chinese universities that receive support from the central government). With over 90,000 graduates, CUFE is known as "the Cradle of Giants in the Field of Finance and Management." Driven by its internationalization strategy, the university has established relationships with more than 120 international organizations. Since 2006, it has offered professional training services to more than 300 government officials from 77 developing nations. CUFE is also one of the first universities chosen to award government-sponsored scholarships for Chinese students wishing to study abroad.
Areas of expertise: CUFE is a research-oriented university in Economics, Finance and Management. International Trade and Economics is one of the most important research areas and the CUFE focuses on both academic contributions and applied analyses of the international trade and Chinese economy. In recent years, hundreds of papers have been published in international academic journals. CUFE has several research centres that deal with trade and development issues, such as the Research Centre for Trade and Investment Policy and the China Economics and Management Academy. The university has established cooperation agreements with relevant government bodies which frequently use the research outputs of CUFE's work.
Courses offered: CUFE delivers a range of undergraduate and graduate programmes in "trade and development" areas, in particular, international trade, finance, international law, international business, development studies and international affairs. It also provides PhD programmes in international trade, development economics, international law and international relations. In addition, CUFE has established several joint undergraduate programs with foreign universities in international trade and finance and it also offers short-term training programmes.
