About the university: Its mission is to become one of Africa's cetres of excellence in teaching, research and consultancy; and to thereof occupy a respectable position in the world. The Faculty of commerce and Management, in which the promoter of the trade agenda (Prof. Francis Matambalya) is based, is fully part of the University. The University does not have a separate unit, which is dedicted to the trade agenda.

Areas of expertise: ACP-EU Relations, RTAs (Eastern and Southern Africa), ICTs and Business Competitiveness, Agriculture and Commodity Based Economy, Multilateral Trading System.

Trade-related research efforts spearheaded by Trade and Integration Studies Programme (TRISP) and Business Analysis Programme (BAP); both co-ordinated by Prof. Francis Matambalya
