The Primakov Institute of World Economy and International Relations, Russian Academy of Sciences (IMEMO) was established in 1956. Its staff comprises 318 researchers, including eight members of the Russian Academy of Sciences, 58 professors and 142 PhDs. The institute conducts advanced multidisciplinary research in the areas of world economy, international politics and security.
IMEMO is a non-profit institute for political and economic analysis and research. Its main research topics include long-term global development forecasts; Eurasian regional integration; regional and global energy markets; global trends in innovations; economic, social and political processes in various regions of the world; and international migrations and global social shifts. The institute also has partnership projects with many well-known think tanks from the USA, EU member states, South Korea, China, Japan, Kazakhstan and other Asian countries.
IMEMO delivers a range of graduate and post-graduate programmes in economics, political science and international relations. It also provides regular seminars for young researchers from institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences in the field of world economy and international relations.
