The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and the Young Scholars Initiative (YSI) are excited to invite you to UNCTAD Summer School 2019. The school will take place at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland during August 26-30, 2019.The activity aims to bring together academics, policy experts, young policy makers and scholars to participate in an international debate on globalization and the management of its consequences for developing countries.
The theme for the UNCTAD Summer School 2019 is “Multilateralism, and Geneva Principles for a Global Green New Deal”.
Daily activities at the summer school to be held at the United Nations Office at Geneva will involve:
Lectures by UNCTAD staff, senior academics and policymakers.
Presentations by Young Scholars.
Interactive debates between academics, policy experts, young policy makers and scholars.
The school is jointly organized by the Division on Globalization and Development Strategies at UNCTAD and the Young Scholars Initiative. Its planned as an interdisciplinary academic forum that aims to provide its participants with insights regarding current policy debates for developing countries in which UNCTAD is engaged.The interdisciplinary approach aims to deliver an integral theoretical, historical, economic and policy making perspective on the topics covered by the school.
