The UNCTAD Virtual Institute is recruiting two new members for its Geneva-based team.
The first position is a three- to six-month (as of January 2016) consultant post for an economist/econometrist to substantively and administratively backstop Vi technical cooperation services for academic institutions in developing and transition countries.
The second position is a four- to six-month (as of October 12) project management internship for Master's students or recent graduates.
The Vi economist post requires a Master's degree in international or development economics and at least two years of relevant teaching and research experience; a completed PhD or an advanced stage of PhD studies would be an asset. Applicants are expected to have very good drafting and oral skills in English, as well as good knowledge of French. Also required is a strong background in econometrics and knowledge of econometric software, in particular Stata.
The Vi intern will receive training and mentoring to enable their contribution to the development of multimedia teaching resources and online courses, as well as to report on programme events through the Vi the website, newsletter and social media outlets. The intern will also be responsible for the maintenance of the Vi's digital library, assisting with the organization of training events and videoconference, as well as managing the distribution of end-of-year publications to our members.
