The International Trade Centre (ITC) has developed five on-line tools to facilitate market research, trade analysis and transparency of global trade. Developing country users can obtain free access (see previous article on the Vi website) by registering in the market analysis tools website: http://www.intracen.org/mat/.
The multimedia files below can help you better understand and utilize the two main
tools: Trade Map and Market Access Map. The web tour is guided by Miguel Camacho, responsible for many ITC training courses on these databases.
Trade Map contains information on more than 220 countries/territories and 5000 products. The video-introduction illustrates practical uses for the data, and explains Harmonized System Codes (HS codes) and National Tariff Lines. The second video is a step-by-step guide on using the online tool.
Market Access Map covers tariffs and duties applied by 185 importing countries. The introduction goes over different types of tariffs and trade agreements covering export of products to different countries.
