In less than a year, commodity prices reacheded unprecedented levels, making food and energy security one of the biggest challenges of the international economy.
Following the high-level conference of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) which took place in Rome at the beginning of June, Vi's partner, the South Centre - a Geneva-based intergovernmental organization of developing countries - gathered representatives from international organizations for the "North-South dialogue on Food and Energy Security."
Speakers analyzed the underlying causes and policy strategies impacting the food crisis, and presented solutions for the short, medium and long-term.
