Video and multimedia

On October 31, the UNCTAD Short Courses on Key International Economic Issues for Geneva-based diplomats, held a session on the ramifications of the energy crisis featuring UNCTAD expert, Olle Östensson.

Drawing on UNCTAD’s work and activities, the course gave an overview of the energy sector, including distribution of global demand and supply, analysis of price volatility and related factors driving such volatility, and recent developments in the energy industry – the energy crisis – and its impact on trade and development.

The course also discussed policies and measures at the national, regional and international levels, and the United Nations’ and UNCTAD’s contribution to ensuring energy availability, accessibility and affordability for development.
