Building knowledge for trade and development

Video and multimedia

alt"In the past, economists have focused on assessing how trade reforms affect trade flows or growth. We haven’t focused a lot on employment effects," said Marion Jansen (pictured, left), of the International Labour Organization (ILO), during the launch of "Trade and Employment: From Myths to Facts."
The book, a joint effort of the ILO and the European Commission, proposes a methodological approach for determining the impact of trade reform on employment, assesses new evidence, and proposes policy measures, while tackling important issues such as gender equity and the informal economy.
